Chocolates tonight!

Saturday 21st November 2009 21:45

For those that know me, it is obvious why I dont eat chocolate, but recently a friend in France bought me and Clive a box of dark chocolate cherries. We looked at them and decided we would save them for a special occasion....
Well, here we are, an ordinary Saturday night and just home watching X factor, and suddenly the box of chocolates that I had hidden away, were shining like a beacon in my mind!! So we had no choice but to open them and we have just scoffed the lot.

Trying to minimise the guilt...I cannot remember having any other sweets or chocolate this year at all, so I am pretty restrained, but this was a real feast, perfect dark bitter choc, with just a hint of sweetness in the cherry. Just delicious! However, my resolve to wait for a special occasion lasted precisely 5 days.... there's no hope for me.

Anybody else got a guilty secret they want to share?

Todays chit chat...

Tuesday 17th November 2009 15:40

Our last proper day in France, and we've been busy getting ready to lift the boat out of the water. Luckily it is another sunny and mild day, so all the cleaning and mast dismantling has gone smoothly.

I've been busy sorting out the house too, and tomorrow we start the long journey home...about 800 miles in total! Up until recently, we did the journey in our motorhome, so were able to enjoy cups of tea, and meals on the journey, but now have a normal car, we have a little gas burner and a kettle, and we make a cuppa, and cook Aldos food along the side of the road, wherever we can find a stopover. Unfortunately, Aldo doesnt like to eat standard dog food, so we find ourselves boiling up chicken and pasta for him on the journey! How spoilt a dog is he?
