Friday again....does time fly?

What a lovely sunny week we have all enjoyed this week? This has brought out lots of customers to the shop, and yesterday alone we had ladies from Durham, Leamington Spa and several from London all in the shop at once. Sooo lovely to see them all, and we are so grateful that they make the trip to Norwich and to Walkers.

The postal strike has definately had a knock on effect on internet orders, and we hope that the two sides get their act together soon. The last postal strike we had 2 years ago, we changed agents and tried DHL and also another company. Both promised THE EARTH in terms of service, and both caused us sooo many problems with deliveries ( either very very late, or undelivered totally) we had no alternative but to go back to Royal Mail. And I should say, that in the subsequent two years the service has been absolutely brilliant, even to Jersey and the outer islands off Scotlands coast. So we shall stick with Royal Mail for the time being, and pray that service will be resumed quickly. However, if the strikes go on for too long, we may have to have a re-think.

Clive is still busy 'doing something up a ladder' and the new house is beginning to look less like the abode of a very old lady, and more like the abode of two middle aged saddo's! (My sons expression!)...we've another week or so of decorating, then off to France for a while.

I've been entering into the system all the new styles ordered for Spring, and doing this reminds me of all the collections....we have such a lot of amazing gear lined up...more than ever, and lots more than my original budget planned for. As well as all our casual linens, we have some fabulously dressy things for Weddings and other celebrations, some marvellous 'over the top' pieces from Mr Rundholz, and our new 'secret' collection which will be unique to Walkers within the UK! So only 8 or so weeks before this all starts to be delivered!!

Well. I think the weather is going to be a bit chilly for the weekend...so get that heating on and wrap up warmly! Back again soon.....xxx
