Chaos reigns!

Sunday 4th October 2009 11:36

Well, blog readers will know that we moved house on Friday, and after a quieter day yesterday, today begins the start of the 'big jobs', commencing right now is the dismantling of the kitchen and the installation of the replacement!
So now cups of tea involve using a portable gas stove, washing up will be done in the bathroom sink, and dinners will consist of take aways for a few days! Clive is at his happiest as he is bashing about and drilling etc, and this is all interspersed with a bit of 'cursing' as he bashes a finger, or a bit more wall than he wanted comes off with the wall tiles! Hopefully within a week, my shiny new kitchen will be in place, and dinners will come off the production line in an orderly fashion.

We can hardly believe how much more easily sleep comes now we are not in the city centre....

I will be back at the shop tomorrow and for most of this week....then off for a few weeks after that.

Last nights Fashion Show!

Friday 2nd October 2009 20:59

Well, what a wonderful evening. The models who were all volunteers who had themselves faced breast cancer and reconstructive surgery, all did an amazing job (despite their initial uncertainty about the Walkers style of fashion). The show was a sell out with more than 500 people attending, and the organisers raised thousands of pounds for the Keeping Abreast charity, which was what it was all about.

We fell into bed late last night, and Clive , I and Becky (our daughter) had to be up with the larks to be ready to move house today. We dont do things by halves! So this evening finds me besides the seaside, and settling into our new home. The cats are pleased to have got a garden again, after 18 months of city centre living, (one cat jumped out of the flat yesterday from the second floor...luckily he is fine, but we werent).

Our girl has returned to her life back in London and we are looking forward to seeing our son next week sometime. A year or so ago, he took our big and beautiful British Blue cat to Oxford to live with him, but now we have a garden again, Jelly, the cat is coming back to live with us again.....so that brings you up to date with all the family news!

As for the shop, now the weather has slightly chilled down a tad, there is much movement of the Autumn stock! Louise and Karen have been very busy....and if you need any info, although I am off work for a few days, my blackberry is keeping me up to date with all my e-mail.

Back again soon!
