Well, as promised, a trip to Germany has proved to be successful, as we have more stock to be delivered this week. We're been really struggling for bigger sized, dressier gear just recently, and this trip should sort that problem out nicely.
The goods will be here sometime this week and will be online towards the weekend.
The sunshine seems to have disappeared today...and I fear, it may be time to get the warmer clothes dusted down for autumn. The thing I hate most about the changing season is having to wear proper shoes! I just love bare feet, and trot round in Birkenstocks all Summer long....but cold feet is not a pretty look!
Louise is sunning herself on the shores of the Red Sea at the moment....she is staying at a luxury 5 star place, and will be back soon, Karen is touring Northern France, and Clare has gone off with her parents to stay at my home in South West France.....so all the staff are away! I have been away a lot this year, so I'm not complaining...they certainly all deserve a great vacation.
More stock news tomorrow, when deliveries arrive. I'm expecting GREAT things from Barbara Speers and some interesting things from a secret new supplier!
Havent we had lovely weather? Here in Norfolk, the weather has been super, sort of bright and breezy, and still quite warm. We've had to have the air-con on for the ladies trying on warm clothes in the shop, and amazingly, despite the weather, we've been jogging along nicely.
I am off to Germany after work on Saturday, as we need more new things, and a couple of our regular suppliers have an open day at the weekend, so Clive and Aldo are heading off in the car, and I will meet them there by plane. Hopefully some more lovely goodies will then be online by next week sometime.
We are still waiting for a bit more Rundholz, and also loads of Grizas, and other lovely goodies.
Tomorrow we take delivery of a new car....we sold our little Smart car last week, as we need a larger vehicle for our long journeys to France...and hopefully this new car will be fun to take with us to Germany at the weekend. Every time we get a new car....we promise ourselves that this time we will keep it nice. No bits of rubbish on the floor, and so on....but every time we never manage to keep to our own wishes. So this time, we're gonna keep it tidy!!
Today, I had a couple in the shop, and they asked me to show them some of the dressier skirts that I had. I took them to the Champagne group and pulled out a lovely little skirt, to which the man retorted 'I would never let my wife be seen dead in that'....in a really loud and emphatic voice. I was really offended, as the skirt was a fair representation of the style of things here in Walkers, and it was the way he spoke to me that was unbelieveable.
Of course, I still had to remain polite, but I was truly lost for words, and the wife of the couple never said a word to him, to modify the rudeness. I am very happy for people to not like all my stock...but there is no need to be rude to me about it. After they had left the shop, all the other ladies in store who had heard him were in uproar, and were so kind to me, and supportive! I hope they dont come back anymore.
