After the initial bit of rain on Monday last, we have enjoyed wall to wall sunshine down here in SW France....and we've been swimming and sailing everyday. I've managed some fairly lengthy swims in the freshwater lake here...which is very sweet to swim in.
Today we spent the afternoon boating, but something happened to our outboard engine, and we had to be towed into our mooring by some kindly French people...so that was a bit of a stress moment!
Tomorrow it is Bank Holiday in the UK...so it will be really nice to not have to worry about the shop, as it is closed for the day.
Clive has bought himself a body board, and has gotten attracted by the unlimited surfing down here on the Atlantic coast....so tomorrow we are going to Lacanau Beach to play about in the waves! Sadly, he is too old to really go for it with all the young men on the beach side, but there are a few oldies 'taking it easy' in the waves! Me and Aldo will of course be watching from afar!
We're leaving here on Wednesday, and then shortly the house will be filled again by some friends who are coming to stay. Pauline and Keith actually have a house of their own not far from here, but they fancy a change of scenery, so will be in charge for a little while.
We've got lots of work to do back home, as there is still MASSES of new Autumn stock to arrive, and as soon as it gets here we need to get it online. Then there is the big fashion show planned for the 1st October...then shortly after that we'll be back here again for the Autumn.
We got here all in one piece, complete with dog and cat, and we all very glad to step out of the confines of a Smart car, and into our house. Today has been spent sorting out a somewhat over grown garden ( and partially died in the sunshine) and also sorting our rather large amounts of dust that had accumalated since we were here 8 weeks ago.
An enjoyable task is also the trip to the supermarket, whereby lots of little French style treats have been purchased! We are rather partial to black pudding with little apple pieces which we saute with slices of eating apple. We also enjoyed for lunch today, some enormous prawns with salad and these dont seem to cost very much money, which is good!
Tomorrow, we hope to go to our boat, and if the sun and wind are in the right quantities, we should have a day sailing.
I'm up to date with all e-mails and since the addition of my blackberry phone, I am able to answer all e-mails instantly....so do keep any questions still coming. We're not so much on holiday, as it might seem!
Speak again soon! A Bientot!
