We were up and away fairly quickly today, and had a lovely day on the Norfolk Broads, with a lunch at one of the Riverside pubs. All very relaxing! Except my little blackberry was going mad, with the event of the new Rundholz Main collection that went online on Friday! So I was a little bit busy from time to time!
Tomorrow, we are hoping that new stock will arrive....we still await loads of nice things...from Rundholz, Oska and Barbara Speers. But first we are going to go to the beach. Although we had a good day today, we were confined to a small space all day, and we both still feel like we want to stretch our legs a bit. Louise (hopefully better after her poorly spell last week) will be in charge!
I'll notify the website if new 'stuff' arrives tomorrow, and we'll get it online as soon as we can.
Well, we had a busy Saturday, and then I decided that I would sit and make some further plans for our part in the forthcoming Fashion Show in the city in a few weeks time.
I've spent the whole evening logged into Napster, listening to umpteen tracks of music, ranging from the theme tune of the Pink Panther, to Rhydian singing classical music. Since we moved to France last year, our entire CD collection is there rather than here, but listening to some of the latest CD's has made me realise that I need to get a few new ones. There seems to be much interesting stuff out there!
Tomorrow, we've been invited to spend the day on a friends 'Gin Palace' on the Norfolk Broads...so hopefully the weather will stay decent. The possibility of a day off and a pub lunch sounds most attractive!
Back again soon.
Tonight we are having a family conference, about the first creative drafts of our new website, which we are planning for release next month.
I am struggling to come to terms with the fact that the kids tell me my existing website 'looks old hat'....cos I still like it! So we'll all get our opinions out in the open and relay this back to the designer. How nervous I shall be when we roll it out live!!! Will all my ladies like it? Will it be easy to navigate? Will it do more things than the old one?
Only time will tell....and we got some terrific feedback when we asked our customers for their opinions earlier in the year.
Yesterday, I was in London, doing the final bit of buying from Oska for Summer 2010. I was very happy with the goods on offer, for a number of reasons.
First of all, they are bringing back some of their original designs, which I just know will go down very well with some of my customers. So next summer we shall have Trousers Mali, and Celeste back, and Jacket Billie and Dayu.
The second bit of good news is that prices have gone down! This is brilliant news, so we are hoping the UK Pound remains stable and we dont lose the benefit on the exchange rate.
Lastly, the colours were really good...for example, Wisteria, Sea Foam, Cloud, all very easy to wear colours that should look complimentary when on.
So that almost concludes the Spring buying...and I am very pleased with what I have chosen! We've had a terrific Spring this season....so maybe we'll be lucky and be able to replicate it in 2010.
My little car was trashed a few months ago, by someone with no brains who thinks it is clever to run a key on every panel of the paintwork.....and today, it has gone off to be mended. Because I drive a Smart car....rather than being re-sprayed, the engineers simply replace all the affected panels. So we shall be smart in all senses of the word very soon. And even better, I have got myself a secret garage here in central Norwich to keep it in....so the sad little car scratcher person will not be able to do it again!!
