We had a lovely morning on the beach, and I was determined that I was going to have a swim in the sea, 'come what may'....so after a few minutes getting accustomed to the cold, I was away .
I really enjoyed myself, and felt quite virtuous!
Next thing we went off to visit my brother, who lives right next to a beautiful 'Broad', or in otherwords a large waterway. We had the run of his garden for the afternoon, and so sat drinking tea and sun bathing!
As I have a Blackberry telephone these days, I am able to answer my customers e-mails wherever I am.....and I am sure some of the customers who get a quick answer must think I dont have a life, as it seems like I am working all hours! Whilst I am in the UK, Clive and I do tend to be on duty all the time.....so the blackberry just anables greater efficiency.
Well, another weekend is over now...tomorrow I am off to London, and Clive and Clare are in charge at the shop. I am doing the buying for the Oska Summer 2010 collection, and I will report back on how that goes tomorrow.
Bye for now.
A beautiful smallish group of cashmere pullovers and cardigans arrived today, in colours black, purple, pistacio, and fuchsia....they will be photographed Friday and will hopefully be online by Friday!
We've had a much needed day off today...so have been to the beach, and to the park to enjoy the sun. Back to the grindstone tomorrow!
So today, we welcome Clare....she is an undergraduate studying Fashion at a university in London, and her long term goal is to become a buyer. Like Gabrielle, a young work experience student here a few weeks ago, she is very well spoken and quick to learn.
It is sooo nice to hear how she is planning her future, to hear of all the places she has worked on a voluntary basis, purely to gain valuable experience, and she is really going all out to make something of her education. So as well as dealing with the everyday jobs here at Walkers, I've also been explaining as much as I can to her, from my perspective as a small time shop keeper.
During Walkers first few years of trading, we always employed undergraduates from the university here at Norwich, and I had forgotten just how much these really bright young things can add to daily life. They bring such insights....! Oh to be young and pretty!
Today we received a couple of large boxes of Oska....BUT unfortunately, most of the contents of the box were actually intended for their London shop....so tomorrow, we shall be packing it all up again.
