The difference between the city and the coast.

Wednesday 15th April 2009 21:33

We boiled at work in the city today, and needed the air con on to be comfortable, with lots of people laying outside on the green just outside the shop. So after work we decided to go to the beach to enjoy the light evening further.....and we just dressed in the same stuff we'd been wearing all day! Mistake.....we bravely walked as far as we could trying to get warm, but the truth was, that the wind at the coast was freezing, and we just had to cut the walk short and get back to the car! Only Aldo didnt seem to notice! I guess the city just misses those chilly sea breezes....and next time we should be better prepared!
Speaking of Aldo...he is a very demanding boy, and he 'controls' me and Clive to accommodate his every requirement. For example, in the car, he wont sit on the floor...he has to sit on my lap, likewise when I am watching tv....he sits on me, and now at bedtime, he curls up right next to us like a small hot potato. So we are literally joined at the hip 24 hours a day! He only weighs 4 kilos, so he is just a little thing, but he certainly knows how to play us for his satisfaction.
Our children think the way we bring the dog up is disgraceful...as they were brought up with very firm rules about things...and they cant believe how casual we are with our little pooch!

Blenheim Palace....and planting Brussels Sprouts.

Tuesday 14th April 2009 16:25

We did some gardening work with Mark yesterday at his allotment, planting strawberries and raspberry canes and some veg,and then we decided to go off to Blenheim Palace to walk around the gardens, and go for a cup of tea, and some cake! The weather was superb, and we did lay on the grass in the sun for a while!

Relaxing.....fabulous....and amazingly, we even bumped into a customer that we knew, despite being 200 miles from Norwich!

Lastly we ate at a nice restaurant in Oxford near to where Mark lives, and then it was time to return to Norfolk....and for me, back to work!
The boys...that being Clive and Aldo, are not home yet, as they are away working on the restoration project of the new boat....so I'm home alone! And very nice it is too!!!

This evening, we're going to take Aldo to the beach...as the weather is so fine, it seems a shame to sit in front of the TV.
