Just been for a lovely walk besides the Salhouse Broad, and enjoyed watching the boats, and the ducks and wildlife bobbing about. There are canoes to hire just besides the waters edge, and we were really annoyed with ourselves as neither of us had any money, so we couldnt go canoeing ...but nevermind, we can go another day, perhaps when it is a bit sunnier.
We dont really eat chocolate ever, so no Easter eggs for us....! But if you are indulging today..... enjoy!(one of my customers who was in the shop yesterday had treated herself to goose eggs to make delicious scrambled eggs for breakfast!).
Back again tomorrow!
Another lovely sunny day here in Norwich, and although it is a Bank Holiday, we were open as usual for business. Just as well really as the phone was ringing constantly, so we were kept on our toes.
However, we decided to shut early, and took Aldo off to Whitlingham Broad for a walk around the lake, followed by a nice cup of tea. There were loads of families and couples like us with their dogs walking around, so Aldo was very pleased to collect all his 'wee-mail' as we walked along. Arent dogs delightful? Luckily for him, there were lots of small dogs to play with, so he had a good scamper around.
Tomorrow is a normal shop day for us, but we are really looking forward to Easter Sunday and Monday, as we will be closed for 2 days on the trot! Even better than Christmas, as with the sale at that time of the year, we were really busy. On Sunday, my Mum is coming for a visit, and in the evening Clive and I are setting off for Oxford to visit our son. We are hoping to help him dig some of his allotment, so really praying that the weather will be kind to us.
I loaded some E Frequence onto the website today, and a bit of Tutta Natura, and also my jewellery from Tutti....so if you have a moment spare, check them out!
I hope all readers are enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend....seeing families, or spending time relaxing. We'll be back again next week, and raring to go again!
Take care folks!
This is an early note for your diary...on 1st October we will be participating in a really big event at St Andrews Hall in Norwich. The reason behind the show is to raise as much money as possible for the charity. This is a group that support those women who are needing breast reconstruction after cancer....which is surely a well deserving cause.
I will be putting my heart and soul into the collections we put on the catwalk, and as it just so happens we have got some pretty amazing pieces ordered for the Autumn, so it will be an ideal showcase. Philip Browne who is the figurehead behind the ever popular and exciting menswear shop in the city will be offering the best mens collection too...so we'll have a lot of fun. The highlight for me, is that we will be dressing ladies who have received breast reconstruction, and they will be all ages, shapes and sizes.....so that really pleases me.....as my customers are also mostly not 'model' size 8's!
Tickets will be available from the beginning of September, and cost £10, so we hope to see you there! We will hold a little 'Champagne and nibbles' soiree at the shop just prior to the evening commencing, so all Walkers ladies will be welcome to pop in here first!
Today I popped upstairs at lunchtime to get a bite of lunch, and when I returned to the shop, one of my lovely customers had delivered me a little bag of freshly dug up vegetables from her allotment. Arent I lucky?!
This lady is a journalist by profession, and she also writes a blog...about her allotment! So if you want a change from reading all the humdrum stuff that I write about, go to www.beanzine.blogspot.com and check it out!
I'd love to have an allotment, but fear that I would lack the necessary commitment.....but the prospect of super fresh veg grown by somebody else is very attractive....so 'Thanks Cath'.
Vogue magazine are featuring Norwich in one of their shopping pages, and Walkers is featured on this page, alongside some of the other busy shops in the area. It makes a change for them to include the cities outside of London.
We seem to see many ladies from outside Norfolk....and this has been greater this Spring, since Selfridges have stopped stocking Oska and other labels similar. Apparently, they no longer cater for the 'over 40's' so one of my customers tells me....and so she, and other ladies like her have discovered us! Wonderful.....well, I just want to write in black and white.....'Walkers are pleased to see you even if you are over 40!'....or over 50, 60 or 70....we really are!
It is just my humble opinion, that by the time you get to 40, you are able to dress to please yourself...and my ladies enjoy doing just this!
