A little sailing boat...

Saturday 4th April 2009 14:23

Clive has been quite excited this week, as he has bought himself a little sailing boat off E Bay!...nothing fancy, but big enough for us two and Aldo to bob about on the lake near to our home in France. Of course, this new addition, needs work and TLC before we can use it, but he plans to get this done between now, and May, when we set off for our Summer holiday.
So this weekend, instead of our customary trip to the seaside, me and Aldo are being abandoned instead for the sanding machine and a lot of elbow grease. My Mum is coming over, and I think we will go to the garden centre and possibly another secret visit to TK Maxx. I think I have an addiction to TK.....does anyone else suffer with this?!

Stuff for today!

Thursday 2nd April 2009 21:07

It was an interesting day today...first of all I saw the agent that sells Flax in the UK....I was intending to buy the collection for Fall...but sorry ladies, I just couldnt buy it. They make fabulous linen for the Summer and I am very keen and happy with it, but the Fall collection just isnt for us...
Then, Aldo went off to have his doggie trim, and I went off to the hairdressers for a girlie trim...My hubby reckons the dog looks great! Grrrrr....
Lastly, I went to TK Maxx for a bit of therapy. Ooohhh I just love that place. Anyway, I treated myself to two fabby teak garden chairs for a little spot in my garden in France. They were a snip at £25 each for real Teak...and I was dead chuffed, although I had the devils own job squeezing them in my Smart car to get them home.
Currently they are hidden away in one of the fitting rooms, next to a radiator...where I shall sit tomorrow dreaming about sunnier days to come!
Actually, I have it on good authority that some lovely new stuff (Nook and E Frequence to be precise) will be here tomorrow...so I sha'nt have much time for day dreaming.
I just watched Eastenders 1 hour programme on Peggy and Archies wedding...oh dear....if you saw it, what ddid you think? Let me know!

Back for three days...

Wednesday 1st April 2009 14:07

I've been back at work for three days, and the sun is shining, and I am dying to get outside! We dont have a garden here in Norwich, just the tiniest little city style back yard, which doesnt get any sun, but we do pack it out with flowers to try and make it look cheery, and there are honeysuckles and wisteria climbing the walls for extra colour.
So I think that this Sunday, I will get some geraniums and other summer plants and get started with some potting!

Nobody played any tricks on me today, April Fools day...although when Clive brought me my cup of tea in bed this morning, it was stone cold....but I think that wasnt intended to be a joke! He busies himself doing 'jobs' in the morning, and forgets that my tea is getting cold! Ah well...at least I dont have to make it myself.

Aldo has lots of visitors.

Tuesday 31st March 2009 11:06

As you know, we've been away for 10 days, as has the dog. He normally sits in the window in his little doggie bed, and he smiles at all the people who come to seem him, often asking 'how much is that doggie in the window'....which we've heard a million times before!
So yesterday and this morning, he has been really busy meeting and greeting all his regulars! We are just up the road from the job centre, so he has a constant stream of people going past.
The only time we hear a peep out of him is if another dog walks by....this is definately not approved of! So barking and all hell lets loose for a few minutes.
Right now, he has gone to the Bank...it is one of his daily duties, and he also likes to pop into the the local Sandwich bar, to buy a slice of Roast Beef! Which is a little treat.....

Phew....first day back!

The Tutta Natura arrived today, but only 20 pieces, and all in un-co ordinating pieces to those which we already have. So I've been e-mailing and phoning Tutta, to express my dismay. This isnt doing me any good, as they simply dont have the stock from the manufacturer...but they do assure me it will be here soon. Please bear with me, we really liked it and it will be worth waiting for.
We got new jewellery in too...and this will be online soon.
