Yesterday and today we have enjoyed glorious and very warm sunshine....we've been out on our bikes and also done some boring stuff like shopping and cleaning.
Today we cycled to the sailing club at Piqueyrot, and sat and watched the boats bobbing about on the lake, and then we stopped on impulse for a lunch of Moules Mariniere and Frites.....which were delicious, but not good considering we have guests coming around later today to Supper, so will be eating another large meal. We did cycle about 15 miles though, so maybe we deserve two dinnres? I think not!
It is Mothers Day today, and my daughter was born on a Mothers day 27 years ago....so that was the most special and memorable Mothers day for me. I've not encouraged my children to get sucked into the commercialism of such a day, as I feel it was designed as a promotional event for the greetings card industry...so I do not expect to hear from them....although my son did send me a text a little while ago! My daughter was celebrating her Birthday yesterday, so I imagine she has not surfaced yet today, let alone considered what day it is! I dont mind though....
Last year on this day, we took my Mum to Aldeborough in Suffolk for the day, and I do recall that it was bitterly cold, and we were wrapped up for Winter, quite a contrast from today. The same day, I recall that I was still more or less unable to walk any distance, so I am thanking my lucky stars that my knees seem to have almost fully recovered!
Well, think 'boiled cashmere' 'boiled merino' 'jewelled velvet' 'amazing colours'....yes 'colours'!! Would you believe, we will have beautiful colours from the Rundholz Main Collection this Autumn! Purple, Pink, Pistacio, Petrol, Orange, and more.....I can hardly wait until August when it all comes in.
After the morning spent oohing and aahing at the Rundholz showroom, we zoomed off to Barbara Speers....this time for Summer T shirts, and also to place the Autumn order. Still pretty wow, but more suited to my larger ladies, as this is all oversized styles. Also in lovely colours though! I am soooo pleased!
Now I am somewhere up a French motorway as we are zooming from Dusseldorf to Bordeaux....but I'm still answering all my mail, so keep it coming.
Firstly its off to Rundholz, and other German suppliers, but by the weekend we'll be heading down to our home in France. All e-mails will be answered on a regular basis as we maintain internet communications for the whole journey...so do keep firing off any questions that you may have!
I'll blog about the new collections coming into the shop during this period, but the website will not be updated until we return back to Norwich on 29th March.
I am addicted to the smell of Eucalyptus, particularly the Molton Brown shower gel...and I've been raving about it so much, that I notice the level in the bottle has been going down rather quicker than normal.
On mentioning this to Clive, it turns out that he too rather likes the fresh fragrance that it offers him and has been helping himself to some every day. OK, thats fine...we share most things, but today I despatched him off to our local stockist to get me another bottle.
So that should have been straight forward. Wrong!! Clive came back empty handed, and the store did have plenty on the shelves.
Well he announced, he wasnt paying £15.65 for a bottle of shower gel!!!, so I would have to use something cheaper!
I am quite annoyed about this....is it really a crazy price to pay? or is it worth the expense? How much is a fair price for shower gel? and what makes one product a lot more expensive than another.
In clothing, fabric quality, design, cutting, quantity of production, all affects the price of the goods, but how can I tell if a shower gel is a better quality than another one?
If you know the answer to this dilemma, please let me know!!
